This project comprised of creating a rear and side extension, landscaping to garden, a new bathroom and general interior refurbishment work. We were tasked with remodeling the ground floor by way of adding an extension to the side / rear of the house, to give the clients a large family living space, with the focus on bringing as much light into the space as possible and providing space for dining and entertaining.
We achieved this by installing beautifully sleek and slim sliding doors, large fixed pane aluminium windows and skylights in the pitched roof area. The clients also wanted to include some “industrial” style features, so they opted for exposed painted beams along with an en-trend dark, “handless” kitchen and a subtle lightly veined stone worktop.
The rear patio was completely redesigned and excavated in order to provide a tiered retaining wall / seating area, along with large space for outdoor entertaining! A crisp white coloured render was added to the buildings exterior to give the house some boldness.
What can we say about this project that the pictures can’t! Situated in the ever popular enclave of Walthamstow Village in East London, this beautifully designed home was a delight to create. Another design from our associates at Native North architects, the project was meticulously planned and every inch of this terraced Victorian house was strategically drawn out in order to create a simple, but sleek family home that flowed from one breathtaking space to another.
With Crittall rear doors, large skylights, “Oriel” bay window, Scandinavian-style bespoke kitchen and exposed timber on the ceiling, the sense of calm and tranquility that one feels when the warm, golden, evening sun is gushing into the kitchen is something to behold. The construction of the extension in hand-made Romanesque clay bricks, gives a unique charm to the aesthetic of the building and compliments the soft soothing nature of the design features within.
This house is a true show stopper!

This project was an absolute delight to be involved in and we struck a real rapport with the clients from the outset. The plan was to create a kitchen extension in order to provide some additional space for a new kitchen, utility area, WC, and living / entertaining space at the rear of the property. Utilising carefully planned glazing positions to the side and rear, we were able to achieve a wonderful dual-aspect that provided a beautiful vista to the garden and patio area.
The installation of a green roof complimented the already charming and wonderfully mature garden, the clients were also pleased to provide some extra pollen for the local Bee population!
Overall, this was a hugely enjoyable project to be a part of and we were delighted to bring to life the clients wishes for the property!
We were instructed by the clients to create a side extension to provide some much needed space to the kitchen area. The project also included the creation of an under-stairs WC, garden refurbishment and other minor cosmetic updates to the reception room. It was an absolute delight to work for this family and we were thrilled to be able to achieve the amazing results that we did!
A touch of elegance was added with the installation of the heritage style crittall doors to the rear, which complimented the properties period charm. The exposed beam and internal brick work above it, gave an industrial feel to the space and made for an interesting design feature. The classic Shaker Style kitchen with butler sink, chess board style marble flooring and neutral wall colours really worked well in this house.
In the garden, an artificial lawn was laid and a new seating area was built, with cleverly designed storage areas underneath. Perfect for entertaining on those warm summer evenings!
We thoroughly enjoyed working with these clients and hope that they can enjoy the space as much as we enjoyed creating it!
